What Others are Saying about Transformation

Learning to know, learning to do, learning to be, learning to live together." - Jacques Delors

Students tell educators that they do not want learning made easy; they want it to mean something. They want to feel something, to be moved by what they learn; they want to connect deeply with things that matter to the world and matter to them; and they want the chance to make a difference. If teaching and learning are reciprocal processes, we need to think about how the education system supports effective teaching for all students.

CEA is not alone in calling for system-wide transformation in public education systems. There are several organizations in Canada and around the world exploring more radical change to meet needs and aspirations of all learners. This section offers a space to showcase these ideas, opinions and related research and initiatives.
