Description: This article written for the Cincinnati Enquirer was devoted to evaluating a program called “Tech Reach,” a partnership between Elder and Seton high schools geared to providing low-cost computer instruction to the residents of Price Hill. The author pointed out that participating students found computers much less daunting or intimidating once they opened the computer boxes, discovered ‘what was inside,’ and learned how to manipulate wires and cables within. It is interesting insofar as it suggests that familiarizing people to ICT can be easier if they understand some of the basic processes and components that make it work.
