Peace Ed 2004: Building a Culture of Peace
British Columbia Peace Education Conference
October 01, 2004 - October 03, 2004
Simon Fraser University, Vancouver (BC)

This first provincial peace education conference has for mandate to bring together educators, youth, First Nation/s and the Aboriginal community, and other concerned people in British Columbia, to assess and advance our work in building a sustainable culture of peace in our local and global communities.

The questions to be addressed include:

- What are the key issues for building a culture of peace in BC?
- What are we doing, or not doing, to build a "culture of peace" locally and internationally, individually and systematically?
- What educational tools and partnerships do we have right now, and how can we build on these foundations?
- How can teachers, youth, and other concerned citizens get involved, learn more, and have an effective impact on our society?
